Digital's Technology and Evolution
From a System House to a Manufacturer

Our first original product
Founded in 1972, Digital Electronics Corporation has been using microcomputer application technology to develop a variety of products. Initially, Digital focused on developing transit fare displays, cash registers and calculators for dentists’ offices. Before long, the Company developed its first original product, an innovative process-monitoring terminal with a display screen that required no programming. This product was especially popular in the field of industrial automation.
Industry’s First HMI

The world’s first programmable display
In 1989, Digital developed and marketed the industry’s first programmable display. This innovative device featured a touch panel that enabled centralized management of various types of equipment.
Unlike conventional analog control panels with a panel of switches and lamps, this device employed a single cable and central control with a touch screen that provided information on the status of operation. It was rapidly adopted in the field of industrial automation.
Digital revolutionized the field of industrial automation with its unique concept of the Human Machine Interface (HMI), and a unique approach enabling visual control of equipment.
